Roar for your Birthright - It's your Right!

Reflections and Writings

Beneath the Road

"Beneath the roar is a whisper,
Not of weakness, but of truth.
The lion’s heart doesn’t just conquer,
It listens, it holds, it forgives.
And so I rise,
Not as a beast of battle,
But as a guardian of my birthright:
Peace, Love, Joy."

Breathing into your Birthright

You may have been taught that you have to earn love. Earn peace. Earn joy. Earn understanding.

But here’s the truth: these aren’t rewards you work for — they’re already yours. They cannot be taken, and they cannot be earned.

Life, though? Life will hand you a load of crap. Sometimes more than feels fair. But even in the middle of that, the Great Divine — however you name or understand it — has already placed within you a treasury of inherent, always‑present states of being.

I call these our Birthrights.
They are the inner strengths that level you up for life’s challenges.

And like any strength, they’re like muscles. Muscles you might not even know you have until you start using them. The more you exercise these Birthrights, the stronger and more accessible they become — especially in moments of stress, grief, or when you feel distant from your truest self.

Some traditions call this Sat, Cit, Ananda — truth, consciousness, bliss.
Here, we simply call it your Birthright.

And that’s what we’re about to do.
The practice below is one way to work that muscle — helping these states grow stronger, more present, and more alive in your daily life. Together, we will embody the states of universal truth with this practice.

Find a comfortable seated position.
We’re going to do a simple breath and focus practice.

Our goal: to feel the strength, spaciousness, and power of the inhale — and to let go of what no longer serves us on the exhale.

Here’s the rhythm:

  • Inhale for a count of 5.
  • Gently hold that breath in for a count of 5.
  • Now exhale slowly for a count of 10 — releasing as you go.
  • Finally, hold out for a count of 5.

Then repeat.

When this feels steady, add this layer:

As you inhale and hold, imagine the expanded space inside you — space big enough to hold Joy, Peace, Love, Understanding.
This is your body opening to receive the Divine gift of Breath and Birthright.
We must make space in our bodies to truly embody these truths.

As you exhale and hold, maintain that inner space — but let go.
Release the doubts, the shame, the grief, the anger, the self‑limiting thoughts.
Send them down and out, like roots releasing into the earth.

Simply breathe in the Bounty of your Birthright … and breathe out the doubts and limits.

Do up to 16 rounds.

And when you’re done, carry this with you:
Where can my Birthright show up deeper in my life today?

You deserve this.
