Asteya

Sanskrit Name:
Asteya
Devanagari:
अस्तेय

Short Summary

Non-stealing — honoring what is freely given and releasing the hunger for what is not yours.

Full Description

*Asteya* goes beyond refraining from theft. It is the practice of sufficiency — knowing you are already full. From the Tantric perspective, desire to take what is not offered arises from *Āṇava Mala*, the forgetfulness of wholeness. Practicing Asteya reconnects you to the abundance of the present moment and erodes the illusion of lack.
